Works of literature have long been a medium to discover new worlds and learn about different cultures. When thinking of fictional scenery in literature, the first thing that comes to mind might be the halls of Hogwarts. Set in 1991, the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling takes us on a journey through the enchanting wizarding world and the magic scene in England. But what about right here, on our very own Malaysian soil, where’s our Hogwarts?

THE YOUNG STAR IN MENTEGA TERBANG: SYUMAILA SALIHIN

Syumaila Salihin was only 10 years old when she first started acting. It was in a small production called Teater Bangsa: Anak Kecil Main Api, where she played a daughter living in a village during the height of the 13 May 1969 riots. Syumaila loved the exhilarating feeling of performing and began taking on more roles in plays and television shows before finally working on her latest and biggest project, Mentega Terbang.
